Captains have a special leadership role. Approachable and available to teammates for questions and guidance, they create a welcoming team culture. They prioritize supporting their team while putting in hard work and striving for greatness.
Captains bridge the gap between coaches and students while helping the team have a fun, focused, and successful season.
COMMITMENTS
—Presence and leadership at all practices, meets, and team functions
—Welcoming and inviting new and prospective students to the team
—Modeling and nurturing our HUSTLE and HEART values and team expectations
—Organizing team traditions including pasta feeds, star of the week, and secret siblings
—Organizing fundraising and volunteer opportunities
—Attending summer practices and encouraging teammate participation
—Help lead training sessions, meet day routines, and team education
HOW CAPTAINS ARE SELECTED
Captains are selected by coaches with input from current captains and teammates based on the following desired attributes.
—Impeccable attendance record
—Initiative in leadership at practice
—Great attitude and demonstrated ability for growth—ability to have fun working hard and learning!
—Excellent communication with both peers and coaches
—Models HUSTLE and HEART values
Captains are selected for one season and may be re-selected for a second season. Demotion is also possible at any time if a captain is not executing the role to standard.
